Vacation Overview
Be prepared to be enchanted on this Enchanting Hawaii vacation as you experience breathtaking scenery, tranquil water, leisure days, and fun activities. Your trip starts in Honolulu with a warm Hawaii welcome—with a welcoming aloha and a lei of fresh flowers. Take a sightseeing tour of Honolulu’s most famous sites, including Pearl Harbor, where you listen to a narration of the dramatic air attack and visit the USS Arizona and the impressive memorial dedicated to the 1,102 men still entombed there. Then fly to Maui for four nights. On Maui, see the ‘Iao Needle, a spectacular volcanic spire, and Haleakala National Park, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater known to the islanders as the “House of the Sun.” Visit the Orchids of Olinda and learn about orchid culture, history, and practical growing tips. Leisure time in Maui also enables you to swim, laze on the beach, take an optional tour, or just relax. You also choose your experience and can take a snorkel adventure to Lanai or set sail on an ocean catamaran to experience the beauty of a Maui sunset. From Maui, fly to Kona for two nights on Hawaii’s Big Island. In Kona, optional activities include a snorkeling cruise to a coral reef, a helicopter ride along the Kohala coastline and active volcano, or a summit to the top of Mauna Kea Crater to view the sunset. Maybe just relax at your hotel’s 10,000-square-foot pool or by the beach. With a perfect blend of guided tours to must-see sights and leisure time to enjoy the beaches and activities of this tropical paradise, this Hawaii vacation offers you plenty of opportunities for photos, fun, and relaxation.

Arrive in Honolulu, Hawaii. (Sun.) Upon arrival you are greeted in the traditional Polynesian way—with a warm aloha and a lei of fresh flowers. Transfer to your hotel in Waikiki. The remainder of your day is at leisure.

Day 2:
Honolulu. (Mon.) A breakfast get-together with your Tour Director to review activities scheduled throughout your stay. The balance of your morning is free to relax, swim, enjoy water sports, or laze on the beach. Take the optional excursion to the Polynesian Cultural Center for authentic island arts, crafts, history, music, a dinner buffet, and a spectacular Polynesian show with more than 100 performers. (B)

Day 3:
Honolulu. (Tue.) Begin with a tour of PEARL HARBOR’S famous Battleship Row. Listen to a narration of the dramatic air attack of December 7, 1941, and visit the USS Arizona and the impressive MEMORIAL dedicated to the 1,102 men still entombed. You will also have an opportunity to visit the MUSEUM, an excellent way to learn about Pearl Harbor Day, the Japanese strategy and military craft, and the individuals involved in the attack. Then, on to Punchbowl National Cemetery and Honolulu Lookout. Other sights include Chinatown, the Hawaii State Capitol, royal ‘Iolani Palace, and the statue of Kamehameha the Great. Tonight, a wonderful evening featuring elegant oceanfront dining and the enchanting musical traditions of Hawaii. Dine at the award-winning Beach House at the Moana Surfrider, then, as the sun sets into the sea, enjoy the soothing sounds of contemporary Hawaiian music accompanied by hula dancers who complement the sounds of the gentle surf. (B,D)

Day 4:
Honolulu–Maui. (Wed.) Today begins with a short and scenic flight to Kahului on the “Valley Island” of Maui. Drive to the lush `IAO VALLEY to see the `Iao Needle, a spectacular volcanic spire. Then, on to LAHAINA, once a whaling center and the capital of the Hawaiian monarchy. Continue to Maui’s resort area of Ka`anapali, your home for the next four nights. Balance of the day is at leisure. Tonight, experience a LUAU in paradise. Settle in and wait for the sound of the conch shell to blow, signaling another fabulous sunset. Situated beachfront on award-winning Ka`anapali Beach, the Ka`anapali Sunset Luau shares the music, dance, and history of the islands right here at the foot of the famous cliff-diving point, Black Rock. (B,D)

Day 5:
Maui. (Thu.) This morning is dedicated to HALEAKALA NATIONAL PARK, site of the huge volcanic Haleakala Crater that is known to islanders as the “House of the Sun.” The park is in a setting of stunning natural beauty, ranging from cinder cones to dense rainforest. In 1980, this fragile native ecosystem was designated an International Biosphere Reserve. Time in the town of Makawao, one of the state’s last paniolo towns. The paniolos were the first cowboys in the United States, and Makawao retains much of that flavor in the façades of its buildings with art galleries, boutiques, craft stores, and eateries. Afterward, visit the ORCHIDS OF OLINDA. Orchids are known for their delicate beauty and exotic character, and during your visit you will learn about orchid culture, history, practical growing tips, and will enjoy a hands-on opportunity. Globus has even arranged for a special orchid delivery to your home, the perfect holiday memory. Return to your resort to relax and enjoy the amenities. (B)

Day 6:
Maui. Choose Your Experience. (Fri.) A Globus Platinum exclusive, today you decide how you spend your day when you CHOOSE YOUR EXPERIENCE. Select between a SNORKEL ADVENTURE to Lanai followed by lunch or set SAIL on an ocean catamaran and experience the beauty of a Maui sunset with breathtaking views of Moloka‘i and Lana‘i, spinner dolphins and flying fish. (B)
Note: Choose Your Experience activity may take place on either Day 6 or Day 7 depending on the seasonal schedule of the snorkel and sunset sail boats. Your Tour Director will provide the most up-to-date information while on tour.

Day 7:
Maui. (Sat.) Activities abound and your Tour Director is on hand to help you plan your day. A full free day to swim and sunbathe at the beach or hotel pool. Consider an optional excursion to the “Road to Hana,” one of the world’s most spectacular drives with its 54 bridges and many waterfalls. From mid-December to mid-April, consider a special whale-watching cruise to seek out the mighty humpback. This evening, your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner. Wonderful conversation and cuisine make the perfect finale to a memorable Hawaiian vacation! (B,D)

Day 8:
Maui. (Sun.) Early this morning, depart for Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island, famous for the active Kilauea volcano. Upon arrival, transfer to your resort on the pristine Kohala Coast. Optional activities include a snorkeling cruise to a coral reef to view magnificent tropical fish or a helicopter ride along the Kohala coastline and over the famous Parker Ranch and an active volcano. (B)

Day 9:
Kona. (Mon.) During your stay in Paradise, make time to enjoy the wonders of Hawaii's Big Island. Today you may choose to take in the breathtaking views of the Pacific while you relax beachside at your resort’s oceanfront, 10,000-square-foot swimming pool. Beachside, be sure to catch a glimpse of the native Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles that bask on the shoreline every afternoon. Or, discover island-style fun and culture as you paddle an outrigger canoe or hike through the largest petroglyph field in the Pacific. For an unforgettable adventure, join the afternoon optional to the summit of Mauna Kea Crater (13,796 ft.) to view the sunset and then visit the Ellison Onizuka Visitor Center (9,200 ft.) to stargaze in the evening. (B)

Day 10:

Standard Offers and Specials provided by Globus Tours

Discount for young travelers

Share the pleasure of a Globus vacation with your children and grandchildren and take advantage of a 10-percent discount on the land-only price. For eligibility, children must be under 18 years of age on the departure date and must be accompanied by an adult. On escorted vacations we don’t accept children under eight years old because we have found that they are too young to enjoy these vacations.

Pay less for your second vacation

We charge you vacation price for your first vacation in 2008, but for every additional Globus vacation you take in the same year, you pay US$35 under list. Our vacations are designed and scheduled so you can combine them almost any way you want. It’s fun to play the add-a-vacation game yourself or talk to your travel agent.

Triple room reduction

On most Globus vacations you receive a reduction when three people travel together and share the same accommodations. Triple room reductions, when available, are listed on the itinerary pages. A word of caution: Triple rooms usually are no larger than twin rooms and the third bed, if there is one, is often a rollaway put in a twin-bedded room.

Avoid the single room supplement

We do not take reservations on a “share” basis because we have found that strangers rarely enjoy sharing a room for the duration of their vacation. Avoid the single room supplement by traveling with a friend. It’s less expensive and much more fun!
